Questions & answers
When does the shop open?
This winter, ahead of the 2027 seed-starting season. Email [email protected] to get one note when ordering opens.
What is the sprout guarantee?
If a packet doesn't germinate when sown as the packet directs, email us within the season and we'll send a replacement packet free.
How does shipping work?
Seed ships in protective mailers from US warehouses, usually within 2 business days of your order. Shipping rates will be shown at checkout when the shop opens.
Can I return seeds?
Because seed is a living product, we don't take returns of opened packets, but our sprout guarantee covers packets that fail to come up. Unopened orders can be returned within 30 days.
Are your seeds GMO?
No. Our line-up is open-pollinated, heirloom, organic and conventional hybrid seed. None are genetically engineered.
What's on the seed label?
Each packet lists the kind and variety, germination percentage, test date and lot, as required by the Michigan Seed Law and the Federal Seed Act.
Which zone am I in?
Most of lower Michigan is Zone 5b–6b; northern lower Michigan and the U.P. are mostly 4b–5b. Our planting calendar shows the zone and frost dates for towns across the state.
How do I contact you?
